Dr. Peterson is a native of the Sioux Falls area.  After graduating from Brandon Valley High School, he attended South Dakota State University where he received a degree in biology.  He then went on to medical school at the University of South Dakota where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.   Dr. Peterson completed his residency in general orthopaedic surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  While there, he received extensive training in total joint replacement.  Dr. Peterson then completed a fellowship in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine in Phoenix, AZ where he developed a special interest in arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.  Dr. Peterson practices general orthopaedics and specializes in arthroscopic surgery and total joint replacement of the shoulder, knee, and hip.  Joining him in Sioux Falls, are his wife and their two children.
